KNOW all Men by these presents that I Fanny Webster of the Town of Dumfries and County of Prince William for and in consideration of the sum of one dollar to me in hand paid the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have manumitted emancipated and set free & do hereby emancipate set free and liberate a certain Mulatto Girl named Polly who was devised to me by the last will and testament of Thomas Montgomerie deceased the said Girl Polly is at this time about Twenty One years of Age.  In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this Twentyeth day of October 1802.

Know all men by these presents that I Robert Graham of the County of Prince William in Virginia for divers good causes & more especially for the affection and good will I bear to my brother Walter Graham have given granted and confirmed and by these presents do give grant & confirm unto the said Walter two molatto [sic] slaves named Daniel and Esther to have and to hold the said slaves Daniel and Esther with the future increase of the said Esther to him the said Walter Graham his heirs ex[ecutors] adm[inistrators] & assigns and alll persons claiming under me my heirs do forever.  In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this sixth day of December, one thousand seven hundred & eighty six.

OWENS during her life and after her death to be equally divided among her children.  Witness my hand and seal this 14^th day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty one.

At a Court of Quarterly Sessions held for Prince William County August 6^th 1821.  This last will and testament of JAMES REID decd was presented to the Court and being proved by the oaths of JOHN SPENCE and HECTOR ALEXANDER two of the witnesses thereto is ordered to be recorded.

And at a Court of Quarterly Sessions cont. and held for said County August 9^th 1821 Administration of the Estate of JAMES REID decd with the Will annexed is granted to PEYTON NORVELL who took the oath prescribed by law and entered into and ackd. A bond with security according to law.

TWENTY POUNDS REWARD

RUN away from the Neabsco Ironworks, in Virginia, on or about the 10th of October last, a country born Negro man slave named BILLIE, the property of the Honourable John Tayloe, Esq; he is about 30 years of age, very black, well made, 5 feet 8 inches high, puts on a sour look when taxed with any thing amiss.  He had on and took with him, when he went away, a blue broad cloth coat, black cotton velvet jacket, and sundry other sorts of cloaths, besides shoes and stockings of various kinds.  He is by trade a ship carpenter, and is such a proficient in that business as not only to repair, but to build a sorts of small craft.  The day that he went off, he was accompanied by a dark Mulatto fellow named SCIPIO, the property of Mr. John McMillan, of Prince William county, in Virginia, of much the same age and size as  himself.  They crossed Potamack river together, in a schooner's boat, to the Maryland shore, where they left her, and have, from that time, kept themselves undiscovered.  As Billie was some time last summer brought from Carolina (to which place, under the sanction of a forged pass, he had travelled as a freeman) it is more than pos[s]able that if he is not now engaged by some ship builders to the northward, that he will endeavor to go on board some craft, bound for Charles-Town, or to some place in Carolina, where he expects to be free.

Whoever takes up the said Negro, or Mulatto, and brings one, or both, to the subscriber, or to Mr. John Calvert, manager of Col. Taylor's mine-bank in Baltimore county, or will secure them, so as they may be had again, shall receive, for each, a reward of 5 l. if taken forty miles from home, or the above reward, if at a greater distance, from the said Mr. John Calvert, or from THOMAS LAWSON.

Deed: Hayes to Harrison Mortgage

Know all men by these presents that I David Hayes for and in consideration of the sum of five shillings to me in hand paid by Mathew Harrison the receit [sic] whereof I do hereby acknowledge have bargained sold & delivered unto said Harrison a sorrel horse with a small blaze in his face & a little __ped. And the said horse I do for ever warrant & defend unto the said Harrison his executors admrs or assigns for ever Provided nevertheless in case the said Hayes shall well & truly pay James Wigginton the sum of twenty pounds for which sum he has this day passed his obligation to said Wigginton in which obligation the said Harrison has joined the said Hayes as security then this deed & bill of sale shall be null and void otherwise to remain in full force and virtue. Signed sealed & delivered this 17th day of March 1800.
