In the name of God Amen, I William Brown of the County of Prince William and state of Virginia considering the uncertainty of this mortal life make this my last will and testament in the manner and form following to wit -- First I lend to my affectionate Mother all the property that descended to me by the death of my Brother Robert Brown both real and personal during her natural life after the death of my Mother if either of my Brothers John Brown Richard Brown and Benjamin Brown should be living it is my will and and desire that they shall have an equal proportion of the property I am now possessed of as well as the property that would have descended to me by the death of my Brother Robert Brown at the death of my mother Sarah Brown.  That it may be more clearly understood It is my will and desire that after my Mothers death all the land and negroes and other property that I am or might have been possessed of shall be equally divided among my surviving Brothers to them and their heirs forever. I also will that Brothers John Brown Benjamin Brown & Richard Brown shall give to Sarah Anne Hampton Renoe when she shall Marry or arrive at lawful age a good horse saddle and bridle. I do hereby constitute John Brown my Brother Executor to this my last will and testament.

In witness whereof I have hereunto affixed my hand and seal this twelvth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighteen.

At a Court held for Prince William County October the 5th 1818. This last will and testament of William Brown decd was presented to the Court and being proved by the oath of Wm. Wheeler is ordered to be certified.

AT a Court held for said County January the 4th 1819. This said last will and testament of William Brown decd was fully proved by the oath of Robert Hamilton and admitted to record.

Military Monday: Volunteer Rifle Company

A volunteer rifle company of fifty odd men was organized at Haymarket, Prince William County, Saturday, November 26, under the superintendence of Col. Brawner.  An election was held for officers, which resulted in the choice of Dr. Geo. S. Hamilton, Captian; John B. Grayson, 1st Lieutenant; Thomas S. Shirley, 2d Lieutenant; the other officers to [be] chosen at the next meeting.  The arms have been ordered, and arrangements are being made to have the company equipped at as early a day as possible.

In the name of God Amen I WILLIAM B. HAMILTON of Prince William County in Virginia, being of perfectly sound mind do make, constitute, and appoint this my last will and testament hereby revoking all others by me hitherto made.  In the first place I will and direct that all the just claims of my creditors shall be discharged.  I then give and bequeath to my dear wife MARIA all the rest and residue of the property of every kind of which I am now possessed to her and her heirs forever.  And farther it is my will that whatever property I have at present a prospective or reversionary interest in shall whenever the descont, or reversion takes place be equally divided one third to each between her and our two children WILLIAM and JOHN.  And I do hereby constitute and appoint my said wife the sole executrix of this my last will and testament, directing also that no security shall be required for the due performance of the trust reposed in her.  In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 7^th day of September eighteen hundred and eleven.

This last will and testament of WM. B. HAMILTON decd. was presented to the Court by MARIA HAMILTON the Executrix therein named who made oath to the same according to law and the said will being proved by the oaths of WILLIAM HAMILTON and ROBERT HAMILTON is ordered to be recorded and the said MARIA having taken the oath of an Executrix and performed what is usual in such cases certificate is granted her for obtaining a probate thereof in due form.

In the name of God Amen I MARIA BRASSFIELD of Prince William County in Virginia being at this time very sick but of sound and disposing mind and memory and wishing to dispose of the worldly goods with which it has pleased God to bless me do make constitute and appoint this to be my last will and testament in manner and form following.  To Wit.  First I give and bequeath to my beloved sister ELIZABETH BRASSFIELD my negro girl FANNY, my bed, bedstead and bed clothes my hymn book prayer book Christian pattern Westleys sermons life of Fletcher and Dictionary one dining table half a dozen chairs writing desk and a chest to her and her heirs forever.  Secondly I give and bequeath to my beloved sister LUCINDA BRASSFIELD my saddle and bridle my unfinished quilt white cotton counterpane the Saints Everlasting, a walnut table and chest.  Thirdly I give and bequeath to my beloved sister JULIA FORTUNE a yarn counterpane a quilt and pieces to make another and a walnut table.  Fourthly I give and bequeath to my brother GEORGE BRASSFIELD a yarn counterpane two volumes of the History of the Bible the Bible and Westley’s notes.  Fifthly I give and bequeath to my brother LEONARD BRASSFIELD a yarn counterpane two volumes of the History of the Bible and Mrs. Thayres letters.  Sixthly I give and bequeath to my friend Mrs. MARY SPINDLE my sunflower yarn counterpane as a mark of my esteem for her.  Seventhly my will and desire is that my land be sold and out of the money arising from said sale that al my just debt and funeral expenses be paid and the balance if any to be equally divided between all my brothers and sisters.  All the rest and residue of my property of what kind soever I give to my two sisters LUCINDA and ELIZABETH and lastly I appoint my brother GEORGE BRASSFIELD Executor of this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all other wills by me heretofore made and acknowledging this as my last.  In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 20^th day of October 1825.

DOGAN is ordered to be recorded.  And at a Court of Quarterly sessions contd. And held for said County Nov. 8^th, 18235.  This said last will and testament of MARIA BRASSFIELD decd. was fully proved by the oath of JOHN D. DOGAN and admitted to record.  And GEORGE BRASSFIELD the Exor. therein named came into court and made oath to the same according to law and having taken the oath of an executor and performed what is usual in such cases certificate is granted him for obtaining a probate thereof in due form.
