Will: Alexander Reid

Dated 31 October 1874; Proved: 5 April 1875

I Alexander Reid of the County of Prince William State of Virginia being in sane mind, but in declining health do make this my last Will & Testament hereby revoking all other Wills in the following manner to wit:

1st I will to my Brother Silas Reid two notes on J. Warder Davis, amounting to $200 - and falling due as follows. One note due 1st December 1875 the others due 1st of December 1876 and lastley I constitute and appoint my Brother Silas Reid executor of this my last will and testament.

In Prince William County Court April 5th 1875

The last Will & Testament of Alexander Reid decd was this day produced in Court by Silas Reid the Executor therein named and being proved by the Oaths of Thomas J. Simpson and Silas Simpson the subscribing witnesses thereto was ordered to be recorded. And on motion of Silas Reid the said executor who made oath and together with Joseph B. Reid & John L. Reid his securities who justified as to their sufficiency entered into and acknowledged a bond in the penalty of $500 conditioned according to law which bond is ordered to be recorded. Certificate is granted the said Reid for obtaining a probate of said Will in due form.

In the name of God Amen, I Samuel Beavers Senr. Of the County of Prince William and State of Virginia being of sound mind and memory, and considering this frail and transitory life, do therefore make ordain publish and declare this to be my last will and testament, that is to say first after all my lawful debts are paid and discharged residue of my estate real and personal, I give and bequeath and dispose of as follows to wit: To my beloved wife Anna Beavers the land and appurtenances thereof situated thereon, lying in the aforesaid State and county, near Occoquan River about five miles S.E. of Manassas now possessed by me, during the term of her natural life, and after her death to be divided between my two sons, Samuel Beavers and Harrison Beavers, the land to be divided equally. He Samuel Beavers retaining the portion he at present occupies. 

Harrison Beavers to have the other portion to wit the Homestead with provisions that the said Harrison shall remain with me & his mother in the discharge of his duty upon the farm, as heretofore during our natural lives and further if there should be any personal property left after paying all just debts, it is my wish that it should revert to my son Harrison Beavers provided he complies with the above conditions.

My other children to wit William Beavers, James Beavers, John Beavers, Mary F. Cornwell, Lydia Banks, Martha Mack, Eliza J. Wearing, Elizabeth Cornwell, I give and bequeath one dollar each.  I appoint and desire that my sons Samuel Beavers and Harrison Beavers shall act as Executors of the Estate. In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed acknowledged my name and affixed my seal this 13th day of June in the year of our Lord 1872.

December 8th 1871. In the name of God amen being in my right mind I do make this my last will and testament.  First I give and bequeath unto Mary Ann Priest my farm known by the name of Right farm containing 148 acres. Also $150 Dollars to be paid at my death, and after all my just debts and other expenses are paid, the balance of my property I give unto my sister Dolly or her airs forever. And I do leave Richard D. Vowls of Danial my Executor of my estate. Given under my hand this 8th day of December 1871.

Vowles announced the ___ of the execution of the said will.

This being my last will and testament and I being now in sound mind first it is my will that all my property personal and real shall be sold and my debts paid, and after paying my debts the balance that is left after paying my debts is to be divided equally among my children, and I appoint John Keys administrator of my estate. March 10th, 1870

The last will and testament of Jas. Arnold was this day presented to the court & being proved by the oath of A.F. David and Montraville Cornwall subscribing witnesses thereto it is ordered to be recorded, and a motion of John Keys who made oath thereto together with Henry Keys and William Payne his securities who justified as to their sufficiency entered into and acknowledged a bond with a penalty of $200.00 conditioned as the law directs. Certificate is granted to the said John Keys for obtaining letters testamentary upon the estate of the said James Arnold with his will aforesaid annexed in due form.

Being considerably advanced in years and knowing the uncertainty of life, and being desirous of making some particular provisions for some members of my family, I Howison Pinn of the county of Prince William and State of Virginia do make and publish this as and for my last will and testament, hereby revoking and declaiming said all other wills by me heretofore made:

1st. I give and bequeath to my wife Pattie Pinn all my real estate and personal property of every description during her life time she paying my just debts;

2nd. After her death I give and bequeath to my two daughters Hannah and Judith Pinn my dwelling house and other buildings with sixteen acres of cleared land adjacent thereto and three acres of woodlands.

3rd. I give and bequeath to Josephine Curtis daughter of James and Lucy Curtis three acres of land adjoining the sixteen acres above bequeathed.

4th. I give and bequeath to my daughter Sarah Stokes wife of Francis Stokes the ten acres which I have already sold to him & three acres adjoining the Marsteller Tract of land and said Stokes owner.

5th. After the death of wife Pattie Pinn I desire that the remaining land not above willed shall be equally divided between my children William Pinn, Howison Pinn Jr., Mary Harris, Travis Pinn, Landonia Lewis, the said Landonia Lewis to have her share of the land to adjoin the Marsteller Tract, and the lot which I have sold to her husband William Lewis if she so desires it, and all the personal property which may be left, at my wife's death to be sold, and equally divided among all my children after paying her just debts.

I appoint my wife Pattie Pinn my Executrix without security.  In testimony wehreof I the said Howison Pinn have to this my last will and testament signed and subscribed my name this first day of July in the year of our Lord One Thousand eight hundred and seventy six.

In Prince William County fourth August term 1876.  The last will and testament of Howison Pinn dcd. was this day presented to the Court by Pattie Pinn the Executrix therein named, and being proved by the oaths of W L B Wheeler & F M Lewis subscribing witnesses thereto is ordered to be recorded.  And in motion of said Pinn the Ex.t named in said last will, who made oath & together with w L B Wheeler & F M Lewis has surities who justified as to their sufficiency entered into & acknowledged a bond in the penalty of $100 conditioned according to law whcih bond is ordered to be recorded, certificate is granted the said Pinn for obtaining a probate of said will in due form.

Will of Oscar F. Pattie

I Oscar F. Pattie of the County of Prince William State of Virginia being of sound mind and memory but weak in bodily health, do make and declare this as my last will and testament. In the first place I desire that all my just debts and funeral expenses shall be paid. After which I give and bequeath the whole of my property real personal and mixed to my beloved wife Susan E. Pattie during her natural life. After her death, the whole of said property to be equally divided between my four children Edgar Irving Richard Ella S. and Mary F. and in the event of the death of either or any of said children, their property is to be equally divided between the surviving children. I also desire if my wife thinks it best to do so, shall sell any of the said property and reinvest the money at her discretion.

I hereby constitute and appoint my beloved wife Susan E. Pattie executrix of this my last will and testament, and desire that the Court will not hold her to security.

Pattie two of the subscribing witnesses thereto is ordered to be recorded. And on the motion of the said Susan E. Pattie who took the oath of an executrix acknowledged a bond in the penalty of $500 (the said will not requiring any security of her) conditioned according to law which bond is ordered to be recorded certificate is granted the said Susan E. Pattie for obtaining a Probate of said will in due form.
