Sunday's Obituary: James Peake

At his residence, in Prince William county, Virginia, on Tuesday morning, the 13th ult., Mr. James Peake, aged 89 years, 5 months, and 11 day. "The righteous have hope in his death." This declaration has been abundantly verified, in that becoming submission manifested during the tedious and protracted affliction and death of this truly amiable and good man. He had been a regular member of the Baptist church at Occoquan upwards of 50 years. He was one amongst the members who first composed the constitution of said church.  It is pleasant to reflect that he has, at all times, and under all circumstances, proved an ornament to the precious cause of Christ. He was a man of fine natural abilities; and, being adorned with the graces of the Spirit, together with an anxiety for the advancement of the Redeemer's kingdom, he made a conspicuous appearance; and was eminently useful in the church of which he was a member. "Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright, for the end of that man ins peace."

On Sunday the 9th September, in the 26th year of his age, of a violent bilious fever, which he bore with exemplary fortitude, John Tyler Linton, only child of John Linton, Esq. of the town of Dumfries, in Virginia.

DIED, at the residence of Col. Gibson, in the town of Dumfries, on the 14th ins. of a pulmonary disease, Dr. Alexander Muschett, aged 31 years and 29 days. He was eminently distinguished for his professional and general acquirements. He has left a wife, one child, and a numerous circle of friends to mourn his loss; but they have the happy consolation in the reflection that, for some time previous to his death, he had the most satisfactory hope in a future state.

TRUSTEE'S SALE.

In pursuance and under the authority of a deed of trust from James Peake, to the subscriber, executed on the 23d day of July, 1824, for certain purposes therein mentioned, will be sold for ready money, at publication, on Thursday the 13th day of April next at noon, on the premises, the

TRACT OF LAND,

in Prince William county, Va., whereon the said James Peake lately resided, containing one hundred acres.

ALSO, ON OTHER TRACT OF LAND,

in the neighborhood of the former, and adjoining the lands of John Mills and Henry Peake; containing about seventy acres, together with certain slaves, viz.

SUKEY, MARIA, SOPHIA, GILES, JOHN, MARY and ALLEN,

and the increase of the said females which have been born since the date of the said deed.  Also, the stock of Horses, Cattle & Hogs, the household and kitchen furniture, and implements of husbandry, & c. in the said deed enumerated.  The subscriber selling as trustee will convey such title only, as is vested in him by the deed.
