INQUISITION INDENTED and taken this fourteenth day of April Anno Domini 1808 at the Court House of Prince William County Between Philip D. Dawe Escheater for the Commonwealth of Virginia in and for the County aforesaid of the one part and George Williams, Samuel Davis, Wm. Keys, Benjamin Cole, Samuel Ashton, Noah Maddox, Benjamin Carney, James Holliday, George Cockrell, John Lowe, Thos. Jacob, Joseph Gilbert, John Watson, Wm. Cocke, Wm. Farrow and Beverly R. Wagener, good and lawful men and freeholders of the same County impannelled by the Sheriff of the same County and duly sworn, Witnesseth that the same good and lawful men so impannelled and sworn as aforesaid do find that Francis Rice late of the Borough of Norfolk dies siezed in fee simple of a tract of land containing one hundred and forty acres more or less lying near Dumfries in Prince Wm. County commonly called Grays that by his will duly proved and recorded in the Borough Court of Norfolk he devised said land to his wife Elizabeth Rice during her life and after her death to any children of the said Elizabeth that she might have after his the said Francis's death and if she should die without having such issue then to his the said Rice's surviving brothers and sisters, that said Elizabeth died sometime in the year 1804 -- without having any issue and that the brothers and sisters of the said Francis Rice appear to us to be aliens, It also does not appear to the jurors and Escheater aforesaid that the wife of the said Rice was a Citizen or that she hath relatives citizens of any of the United States of America, Therefore forasmuch as the said Francis Rice died without heir citizen of this Commonwealth or of the United States of America capable of holding the said before mentioned tract of land, that the same Escheated to the Commonwealth of Virginia, and to the same Commonwealth doth of right belong. We accordingly do escheat the same, Witness the hands and seals of the Escheator and of the jurors aforesaid the day and year above written.

N.B. The within mentd. land was purchased by William Savage of David Bland Deed recorded in the County Court of Prince Wm. in the year 1779, Savage devised his Estate to Edward Rice his will recorded in the General Court in 1789 Edwd. Rice devised hsi EState to Francis Rice within named his will recorded in the District Court held at Suffolk in 1801. Francis Rice devised it as writhin.

In the name of God Amen I RICHARD STONNEL of Prince William County Planter being weak in body but having my perfect reason and right of sence and understanding do hereby make this my last will and testament.  I promis to give and be queath unto my sun in law WILLIAM LOYD one feather bed & furniture when he needs it.  I give and bequeath unto my be loved wife SALLY STONEL all the rest of my estate as long as she may live after all my just debts is paid and at her death for what is left to be divided amongst all my children and my wifes two sons:  JOHN CORNWELL & GEORGE CORNWELL.  This instrument of righting made the seventeenth day of January one thousand eight hundred and five.

At a Court held for Prince William County July 2^nd 1805.

This last will and testament of RICHARD STONNEL decd was presented to the Court and being proved by the oaths of WILLIAM BAWSELL, ALLEN BLAND and JESSE WARDER was ordered to be recorded.  And administration with the will annexed of the estate of RICHARD STONNELL decd is granted to SARAH STONNELL she having taken the oath prescribed by law and executed and acknowledged a bond with security according to law.

In the name of God Amen I GEORGE GRAHAM of the County of Prince William and State of Virginia being of sound and disposing mind, blessed be God, do make this my last will and testament, annulling and revoking all other wills heretofore made by me.  Imprimis. My will and desire is that all my just debts shall be paid. 2ndly I give and bequeath unto my nephew JOHN GRRAHAM HESLOP all my estate for the following uses and purposes. 3^rd I give and confirm unto JAMES KEMPE all that tract of land lying on occoquan river at Davis’ ford which I purchased from JOHN BLAND, as by reference to the deed will more fully appear, and which has never been conveyed to him, my will is that my executor shall convey the said to him JAMES KEMPE.  4^th I give unto my brother JOHN GRAHAM of Law house in the county of Cumberland, England one mority of the residue of my real estate in this country, the whole of which it is my desire shall be sold, on a credit of ones two, three or four years at the discretion of my executors, and that my brother JOHN’s proportion, of the nett proceeds – must be remitted to him or his heirs as the payment shall become due.  5^th The other moiety of my real estate I give to my sister ISABELLE HESLOP and unto my nephew JOHN GRRAHAM HESLOP equally.  6^th I give my wife SUSANNE one mority of all the country man counterpaines, sheets, and table cloths, of domestic manufacture a dressing glass and dressing table, her choice of any bed and bedstead & furniture, in lieu of the one she brought with her.  I also give her the silver teapot and silver stand for the same.  I add nothing more as my wife is very amply provided for and has no need of my assistance, but my desire is that she shall have the use and occupancy of my farm where I now live for one or two years, reckening the time from the first of January in the year I shall happen to die, that she may get herself accommodated on her own farm, provided she does not commit waste on the estate, nor clear any more land, nor cut wood, except for the use of the farm and for her own firewood for herself and family.  7^th I give my sister ISABELLE HESLOP one mority of all my present estate the other mority I give to my nephew JOHN GRAHAM HESLOP.  I constitute and appoint my nephew JOHN GRAHAM HESLOP whole and sole executor of this my last will and testament given under my hand and seal this twenty first day of November one thousand eight hundred and fifteen.

At a court of quarterly sessions continued and held for Prince William County March 6^th 1816.

JOHN G. HESLOP executor named in the last will and testament of GEORGE GRAHAM deceased came into court, and made oath to the same according to law, and having taken the oath of an Executor and performed what is usual in such cases certificate is granted her for obtaining a probate thereof in due form.

In the name of God Amen I William Bauzel of Prince William County Planter being weak in body but having my perfect reason and right of sences & understanding do hereby make my last will and testament.  Ipromis, I give and bequeath unto my well be Loved wife Mary Bauzel all my estate possessions and property as long as she may live except one feather bed and furniture that I leave unto my sun Richard Bauzel and after my wife Mary Bauzel decease for all the rest of my property to be equally devided amongst all my children except my sun George and at his decease for his part to be returned unto the rest of my children, January the 3^rd day One Thousand Eight Hundred & Seven.  I leave my wife Mary Bauzel & my sun William Bauzel my Executors.

And at a Court cont and held for said County April 7^th 1807 Mary Boswell Executrix named in the last will and testament of William Bauzel dec'd came into Court and renounced the burthen of the Execution thereof and William Boswell Executor named in the said Will came unto Court and made thereto according to Law and having taken the Oath of an Executor and entered into bond with Security according to the Law certificate is granted him for obtaining a probate thereof in due form.
