Mrs. Minnie Smith of 924 New York avenue, filed for partial divorce against her husband, Bennett B. Smith of 617 Sixth street northwest. She asks that the husband be required to contribute toward the support of herself and their two children. The marriage took place in Prince William County, Va., April 19, 1892, and the couple separated eight years ago. Mrs. Smith says her husband makes about $100 a month, and has never contributed to her support or that of their children since the separation.

The party will be held at Paradise Farm, their home on Sudley Road. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn will receive with their daughters, Miss Nancy Lynn and Miss Jane Lynn, and will be assisted by Miss Elizabeth Davies and by Mr. and Mrs. Charles Brower of Purcellville, who were attendants at their wedding 25 years ago.

Mrs. Edgar L. White Mysteriously Absent From Home

Miss Lottie L. Hoadley of Prince William county, Va., and Edgar L. White of this city went to Rockville, Md., three weeks ago and were married by the Rev. Mr. White. Today the husband called upon Inspector Boardman at police headquarters and asked that the police assist him to find his wife.

"She went away from our home at 637 Pennsylvania avenue southeast about 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon," said the husband, "and did not come back. I fear her mind has become affected and I am anxious to find her."

The young man said he had not had an unpleasant word with his wife. When he went to work yesterday morning, he stated, his wife kissed him and said she would have his supper ready when he returned home.

"But," he said, "when I returned she was not there. I waited for her, hoping she would be in later, but she did not come back, and I am uneasy about her."

The missing woman is twenty-three years of age, has light complexion, hair and eyes, and wears glasses.

A wedding of much interest to society here was that of Miss Marion Russelle Cecil, daughter of Colonel G. R. Cecil, U.S.A., and Mrs. Cecil, to Alfred E. Bruch, son of Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Bruch, of Cleveland. The ceremony took place yesterday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock at the home of the bride's parents in Washington, with the Rev. C. Ernest Smith, of the St. Thomas's Church, officiating. The wedding was celebrated in the sun-parlor which was decorated in white lilacs, roses and lilies, against a background of palms and Southern smilax, and the bridal party passed to the altar through arches of smilax and white blossoms. A stringed orchestra played the wedding music.

The bride entered with her father, who gave her away. Her wedding dress was of white satin trimmed in chiffon and rose point lace worn by her mother at her wedding, and the skirt was finished with side panels of pearls and iridescent beads. Her long court train was lined with cloth of silver and embroidered in pearls, and her veil of illusion was of tulle edged with rosepoint lace. She carried a shower bouquet of orchids and lilies of the valley. The bride's only ornament was a brooch of diamonds, the groom's gift.

Miss Nancy Leary Patton, of Richmond, who was the bride's maid of honor and only attendant, wore a French dress of chartreuse Georgette crepe over gold, embroidered in blue and gold beads, with a picture hat to match. Her flowers were Ophelia roses. Edward Bruch, of Cleveland, was best man.

An informal reception followed the ceremony, after which Mr. and Mrs. Bruch left for a honeymoon trip to New York and the West. They will later motor back to their country estate "Ben Lomond," near Manassas.

Wedding at The Plains

Grace Church, The Plains, was the scene of a pretty wedding yesterday evening at 8 o'clock, when Miss Charlotte Newton Cochran, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert S. Cochran, became the bride of Rolfe Robinson [sic; Robertson], of "Carter's Green," Prince William County. The church was decorated with pink roses and smilax and hundreds of candles. Immediately before the ceremony, Mrs. Joel Cochran sang "The Perfect Day."

The bride entered with her father, who gave her away. She wore a white tulle dress over satin, with lace veil caught with orange blossoms, and carried a shower bouquet of white orchids and lilies of the valley. There were eight bridesmaids, who wore charming frocks of pink tulle, and carried bouquets of pink roses.

Miss Catherine Cochran was her sister's maid of honor. She wore a nile-green tulle dress, and carried pale-pink roses. Four little ribbon girls, Elizabeth Skinker, Isabel Cochran, Jeanette Cochran and Cora Lee Cochran, wore white tulle dresses with pink sashes, and carried pink baskets of roses.

Miss Virginia Cochran was flower girl. She wore white organdie and pink sash, and carried old-fashioned pink rosebuds.

The bridesmaids were Misses Wynyard Barker, of Warrenton; Rita Robertson, Delaplane; Mary Foster, Clarissa Fleming and Julia Cochran, The Plains; Mary Stuart Robertson, Staunton; Martha Strother, Markham; and Alise Ruge, of Apalachicola, Fla.

The ushers were James Foster, Baltimore; Harry Lee, The Plaines; Lynne Robertson, Prince William County; Henry Latham, Prince William County; Rodgers Friel, Middleburg; Jack McCarty, Delaplane; Tom Cochran, The Plains, and Leslie Keith, Fairfax County. Holmes Robertson was his brother's best man.

After the ceremony, Mr. and Mrs. Cochran gave a beautiful reception at their handsome home on "The Hill," followed by a dance at the Town Hall. Five hundred guests were entertained during the evening.

Mr. and Mrs. Robertson motored to Washington, en route to Atlantic City and the Thousand Islands. They will be at home in Prince William County after July 1.

MANASSAS, VA., October 26.--Three members of the younger set in Manassas became brides to-day. Miss Martha Virginia Nash, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Emory Nash, and George Berger Cocke, of Petersburg, were quietly married at high noon in Washington at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. G. B. Bresnaham, relatives of the bride.

The marriage of Miss Faith Pendleton Chapman, daughter of the late P. P. Chapman, of Manassas, and John Bascom Gaddes of Washington, a native of Lynchburg, was solemnized this evening at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Washington, Rev. George P. Dudley officiating.

Miss Grace Belle Green, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John S. Green, of Manassas and Wallace Meetze Monroe of Burke, Fairfax County, were married at noon by Rev. George T. Tyler, pastor of the Fairfax Methodist Church.

Divorce Follows Desertion

Judge Hagner on Saturday granted Mrs. Mary E. Beacham a divorce from John A. Beacham, of Seventh street southwest.  They were married in Prince William county in 1888. Three years ago he deserted her to live with another woman, and for that she was given her freedom. She is also permitted to resume her maiden name, Mary E. Dixon.

John T. Haydon Granted Divorce

Judge Preston signed a decree in Circuit Court at Towson yesterday granting John T. Haydon an absolute divorce from Eunice W. Haydon on the ground of abandonment.  The parties were married April 2, 1913, and the wife abandoned her husband, according to the testimony, on August 5, 1916, because of her distaste for life on the farm. Mr. Haydon came from Prince William county, Virginia, in December, 1913, since which time he has been engaged in farming at Glencoe Baltimore county.

MARRIED AT THE COURT-HOUSE

Two Couples from Virginia and One from Maryland

This morning when the office of the clerk of the court opened there was in the corridor a young couple waiting for a marriage license. This was made out in the names of Wilman J. Weeks and Angeline A. Herndon, both of Branchville, Prince William county, Va.  before this license was issued another couple appeared and procured a license bearing the names of Edward Grove and Cornelia Tucker, both of White Plains, Charles county, Md. A suggestion was made, as they were strangers, that a minister could be procured speedily and a court-room could be opened for the ceremonies. These suggestions were accepted and Rev. Dr. Corey, of the Metropolitan M. E. church, was sent for and tied the double knot in the presence of a large number of members of the bar, clerks and others. In a few minutes thereafter James M. Keys and Catherine McEuen, both of Brentsville, Prince William county, Va., appeared. They were shown into the private room of one of the judges, and Rev. L. H. York, a local minister of the Methodist Episcopal church, was sent for and made them one.

The Rev. George L. Wolfe, pastor of First M. P. Church to-day announced the marriage here by him on August 17 of Miss Anna J. Neufer, of Prince William county, Virginia, and Abram McBubb, of Woodbridge, Virginia.  The  young couple came from their Virginia homes to avoid a big wedding celebration. They were unaccompanied and left at once for Virginia. Mr. Bubb, who is in the dairy business at Woodbridge wrote to Mr. Wolfe to-day asking that he announce the wedding.

[Bessie Leachman was the daughter of John T. Leachman.  In 1900 she sued for and won divorce from her husband, John Elliott, on grounds of abandonment.  She was awarded $20,000 as alimony and reimbursement of her legal fees.  Three children were born of the union:  Bettie Lewis Elliot "who will be eleven years of age in January," John Love Elliot (9 years old in 1900), and "Nan Leachman Elliot who was born in Sept. 1896 and died during July 1897."  Bessie was given uncontested custody of her two children.]

Mr. Lewis is the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph F. Lewis, of near Manassas.
