Miss Vera V. Hughes of Coaburn and Robert C. Leachman, 150th Infantry, Camp Shelby, Miss., were married on New Years day in Hattiesburg, Miss. The bridegroom is a son of Charles C. Leachman of Manassas. 

The Manassas Good Housekeepers' Club met Wednesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. R. J. Adamson. Mrs. S. G. Byrne entertained the Stone House Good Housekeepers' Club Wednesday afternoon. 

Miss Ada Kincheloe of Upperville, Fauquier county, has been the guest of Mrs. L. Frank Pattie. Christopher M. Newman of Bridgeport, Conn. and Mrs. Bessie Newman of Washington were recent visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Conner. 

Mr. and Mrs. Fontaine Hooff, whose marriage took place recently in Washington, have been visiting Mrs. Hooff's parents, Mr. and Mrs. George H. Smith. 

J. P. Leachman has returned from New Mexico and Cape Girardeau, Mo., where he visited his daughters, Mrs. David B. Smith and Mrs. Allen Laws Oliver. 

Wheatley M. Johnson and J. B. Johnson, jr., of Camp Lee recently visited their parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Johnson.

In the Name God Amen I Moore Hooff of the County of Prince William and State of Virginia being old but of sound mind and memory Bless God for the same calling to mind the Mortality of my body and knowing it is appointed for all Men once to die do Constitute and ordain this my last will and testament, that is first and principally of all I recommend my Soul into the Hands of Almity God and my body to the earth to be buried in a decent christian burial at the discretion of my Executors, not doubting but at the General Resurrection I shall receive the same again by the Mighty power of God. And as touching my Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to Bless me with in this Life, I give and bequeath in the following Manner.

Viz: Two Feather Beds and Bedsteads, two sheets to each Bed, one cotton counterpane to each Bed, two blankets to each bed, also two yarn bed covers to each bed, likewise, two pillars and one Boulster to each Bed, also one Table and four chairs one pot and one oven six plates and a dish and half dozen knives and forks and also one cow which was my loving wife's Property before our marriage contract.

Second I give also to my loving Wife Nancy Hoff two choice horses and one side saddle three choice cows and also half my stock of sheep and hogs, half of my household and kitchen furniture except two beds and furniture and also the half of my crop that is made growing, and to have full and peaceable possession of my house kitchen and garden and a reasonable supply of firewood until she can get her full part of the Property I have given her.

Thirdly I give to my daughter Pamelia three Negroes namely Eliza, Lucy-Anne, and Harrison, one choice bed and bedstead two sheets and two blankets one cotton counterpane one quiilt and two yarn bedcovers two pillars and one boulster one tea kettle one table one cupboard one bureau and twenty five dollars in cash as soon as it can be raised out of the sale of my Property.

And fourthly, all my lands and the balance of my property that I have not will'd to be sold and equally divided after my just debts are paid with this exception I give my daughter Frances Cornwell one hundred dollars more than her equal part of the sale of my Property, and my son Cornelius Hoff fifty dollars more than the equal part of the sale of said property and my desire is that my old Woman Winney should be given this indulgence by my Executors to let her live with any part of my family she choses or chose a master.  Lastly I do hereby constitute and ordain my son Thomas Hoff and M. James Fewell Executors of this my last will and Testament.   In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 24th of May 1825.

At a Court held for Prince William County December 3rd 1827.

This last will and testament of Moore Hooff deceased was returned to the Court and being proved by the oaths of the Witnesses thereto the same is ordered to be recorded.

MANASSAS, VA. October 20 -- Miss Ruth Althea Round, second daughter of Lieutenant and Mrs. George Carr Round, and Allison A. Hooff were quietly married here on Monday evening at the home of the bride, by Rev. J. F. Burks, rector of Trinity Episcopal Church. After a Northern wedding tour they will return to the Hooff residence, in Grant Avenue, Manassas. The bride is a graduate of the Manassas High School and the State Normal School, at Harrisonburg. She has been instructor of physical education at the Orthopedic Hospital, at White Plains, N.Y.; the Binford High School at Richmond, and the Harrisonburg Normal. Mr. Hooff, who is a native of Charles Town, W. Va., is the junior partner in a Manassas lumber firm.

Dr. and Mrs. William J Bell celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on Tuesday evening at their home, near Brentsville, Prince William County, five children and ten of their twenty-five grandchildren being present. Dr. and Mrs. Bell are natives of Augusta County, Mrs. Bell before her marriage having been Miss. Mary Agnes Patterson. Dr. Bell served in the Confederate army.

The Manassas Good Housekeepers' Club was entertained on Wednesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Thomas F. Coleman.

The Manassas Chapter of the American Red Cross has elected the following officers: chairman, George G. Tyler, clerk of Prince William County; vice-chairman, Mrs. George T. Lyon; treasurer, L. Frank Pattie, cashier of the National Bank of Manassas; secretary, Miss Mary Larkin, editor of the Manassas Journal, and executive committee, W. C. Wagener, Mayor of Manassas; Mrs. C. M. Larkin, principal of the Manassas graded school; Mrs. C. R. C. Johnson, Mrs. R. S. Hynson, and Mrs. J. F. Burkes, wife of the rector of Trinity Church.

Mrs. James F. Birkett has returned from an extended stay in Rupert, Idaho, where she was the guest of her son-in-law and daughter, Rev. and Mrs. Robert Lee Lewis.

Mr. and Mrs. James R. Larkin attended the State Fair at Richmond, and visited their son, Private Francis Norvell Larkin, at Camp Lee.

Miss Marianna Speiden, of Washington, was the recent guest of her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Speiden.

Miss Mary Lee Chapman has returned from Roanoke, where she was the guest of her grandmother, Mrs. Martha Chapman.

DEATH.  On Thursday morning, the 20th instant, in Occoquan, Prince William county, Virginia, Josephine, youngest daughter of Francis and Eliza F. Hanna, aged 5 months and 9 days.

Funeral at Trinity Church

Funeral services for John Jenkyn Davies, five-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Davies, who died last Thursday in Baltimore, took place Saturday at Trinity Episcopal Church.  Interment was made int he Manassas cemetery.  The services were conducted by the rector, Rev. J. F. Burks.

The pallbearers were four little boys -- Hawes Davies, jr., James Jenkyn Davies, Allison A. Hooff, jr., and John Bowling Hooff.
