Legal Notice: Thomas v. Farrow (1850)

MESSRS. George Dye and John Hore, survivors partners of the late firm of George Dye & Co -- Take notice, that on the 13th day of January, 1851, I shall proceed to take the deposition of Daniel Ratcliffe, at his office, in the city of Washington, between sunrise and sunset of that day, and on the 17th day of January, 1851, I shall proceed to take the deposition of Washington H. Norville, at his mill in the County of Prince William, between sunrise and sunset of that day; which depositions are to be read as evidence on the trial of a suit in chancery now depending in the Circuit Court of Prince William County, in which I am plaintiff, and you and Thomas M. Farrow, and Walker P. Conway, administrator of John M. Conway, jr., deceased, and Seymour Lynn, administrator of Samuel Tansill, deceased, are defendants; and the taking of said depositions, will respectively be continued, if necessary, from day to day, till they are both closed. --

Military Monday: Lt. Gilbert Rollins / Lt. Egbert Thompson / Pfc. E. Conway Owens

WOUNDED IN ACTION

Lt. Gilbert Rollins, son of Mr. and Mrs. John T. Rollins, Gainesville, and Lt. Egbert Thompson, jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Egbert Thompson, Woodbridge, were wounded in action during the invasion of France and both are in hospitals in England.  Both men are graduates of the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and formerly were Prince William County 4-H Club Members.

AWARDED PURPLE HEART

Pfc. E. Conway Owens, jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Owens, Nokesville, has been awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received in Italy.  Pvt. Owens has been returned to the United States to recuperate and is at present in the Moore General Hospital in North Carolina.

Sunday's Obituary: Lynn

Alexandria Gazette (Alexandria, Va) – May 26, 1830 -- Departed this life the 19^th inst. in the 48^th year of her age, after a severe and long affliction, which she bore with Christian fortitude, Mrs. Sarah A. Lynn, consort of Capt. Joseph R. Lynn, of Fairview, Prince William county Virginia.  In her death her husband lost a dear companion and her children a tender and affectionate mother, and the Baptist Church a worthy member.

Alexandria Gazette – September 20, 1869 -- DIED.  At Gordonsville, August 30^th, 1869, Lucian Ashby, son of Milton and Mary F. Lynn, aged 1 year, 11 months and 4 days.  “Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not, for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”

Richmond Times Dispatch (Richmond, Va) – July 23, 1908 -- Warrenton, Va., July 22 – Mrs. Ann M. Lynn, aged eighty-eight, died here last night at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. S. W. Maphis.  She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. S. J. Conway, and three sons, Rev. Frank A. Strother, A. W. Strother, of this place, and Henry H. Lynn, of Prince William, the latter a stepson.
