Wallace Norman Tansill was born in Prince William County, the son of Samuel Tansill and Theodocia Norman. He married Anna Louisa Cole, the daughter of Horace Cole and Martha A. Taylor.
He and his wife are buried in the Fredericksburg City Cemetery, Fredericksburg, Virginia.
